Project One Night Stand opened its first exhibition in Christine Morla’s garage located in Oxnard, California in the spring of 2008. The purpose of the exhibition was to bring artists from various levels in their careers to exhibit together in a space outside of the white cube and to challenge the artists to work in an experimental manner. The show included established and emerging artists from Los Angeles and student artists from Oxnard College. Some of artists created work that specifically dealt with the psychology of a garage space. Others showed work in response to the theme of a “one night stand.”
Artists featured: Osvaldo Trujillo, Monica Furmanski, Ichiro Irie, Paul Benivides, Aska Iida, Gretchen Mars, Christine Morla, Gladys Rodriguez, Aaron Dadacay, Olguin Tapia, Maria Villote, Pam Lamas, Lisa Yamazaki and Jose Rodriguez Jr.
